Let the Big Three Fall: They Broke Detroit, Let Them Fix It!

First, the Big Three in the American auto industry wanted $25 billion. Now they raise the 'anti' to $34 billion, stressing this price tag may not be enough money to bailout the American auto industry. Clearly, it will not!

Are We Fools?
Just how far will congress go to save an industry that continuously shoots itself in the financial foot through ignorance is questionable? If they listen to the American people, over 60% are not in favor of the bailout. We simply cannot afford the price tag. Detroit is on its own.

It does not take Quantum physics to figure the final bill for saving the American Big Three auto makers may tally at around $100 billion. We simply cannot afford it!

The question is:
Are we going to give the money to the same people who without shame broke the industry? Bailing out CEO's who ignored the coming crisis, ignored the call for 'green' cars, the same people who refuse to assemble an industry task force of labor, management and suppliers from all three companies to develop objectives, strategies and tactics in a plan committed to solving this crisis.

Will we cast off the deceitful people who believe the government is obligated to bail them out, and will sullenly forgo their millions of dollars in salaries and benefits , probably to to collect them later in outrageous bonuses?

Are we going to keep the same people in charge of rebuilding Detroit ...that broke it? Silly us if we do! And stupid congress if they do!

The Real Problem
Each car builder is out to protect their own company...industry be damned. They haven't figured the problem out yet. The American people are not gullible fools, they can see through this petty charade and choose not to play. They know very well it is not a Chrysler, Ford or GM problem. It is endemic to the auto industry, it is their problem. However, they broke Detroit and they have to fix it!

Get Rid Of The Dead Wood Causing The Problem
To solve the problem takes drastic action. Cleaning house is in order, get rid of the 'good ole boys'. Replace the CEO's. Chairmen, CFO's Directors and the recalcitrant UAW officials who lack foresight. Replace them with fresh minds who think outside the Detroit box. Men and women capable of insight and vision. People who can act swiftly and assemble a task force from all parts of the industry to make decisions based on economic forecasts and trends. They must prepare a simple plan of action to be solvent and survive. Detroit has failed to present or implement, and plan any way out of the crisis. Silly them! They haven't done this because the want us to bail them out of their responsibilities.

Let Detroit Fail...and Fall
If they do not make severe, drastic changes and rely on the old way of business as usual, the industry is doomed. Let us understand, the people who helped bring on this crisis are the same people in bed with the auto industry...the proverbial oil industry with inflated gasoline and oil prices. Let them contribute to the survival of their chief consumers demise. They have been making record profits for years and surviving quite admirably. Consider they have an industry to lose as well.

Think about this, if the Big Three fails and falls, what will happen? Do we think China would pass up the opportunity to buy an established industry in the American market? In addition, what about India's TATA Motors, they already are making affordable cars with high MPG read for our market. And perhaps, some of the European car makers with their 'Smart' cars are interested in jumping into the American market, as the Asians did several years ago. Asian car makers are successfully competing because of their vision and keen ears to the market. Remember, the parts, assembly plants and distribution are already established and just waiting.

There is the question about the taxpayers footing the bill for a bailout. What is the plan to repay them, or will the Big Three simply take the money as a gift, and run. Congress has the job of watching out for the taxpayers and repayment!

Why cannot Americans, who invented the automobile and the assembly line, get it right? The Detroit pompous asses deserve to fail. Let them file for Chapter 11 and restructure under the watchful eye of the Congress. Let them fall!
